A converted Georgian farmstead on the Fife coast just south of St Andrews, owned by the Wemyss family (of Wemyss Malts independent bottling). The original Dream to Dram bottling has been retired — the core is now Doocot and Balcomie, joined by Coaltown and, from 2025, a 10-year-old age statement. The visitor centre is among the best-designed in the Lowlands.
Kingsbarns is a beautifully restored Georgian farmstead on the Fife coastal strip just south of St Andrews, owned by the Wemyss family (of Wemyss Malts independent bottling fame). The founding story — from failed crowdfunding to family investment to award-winning whisky — is compelling, and the range has matured from the retired Dream to Dram into today's Doocot and Balcomie core. The spirit is light, coastal, and honeyed; the visitor experience is excellent and the location is outstanding.

Kingsbarns is a farm distillery on the East Neuk of Fife, 5 miles from St Andrews. St Andrews has excellent accommodation from the Old Course Hotel to university B&Bs. The East Neuk fishing villages (Crail, Pittenweem, Anstruther) are within 10 miles. The combination of whisky, golf, and coastal villages makes this corner of Fife one of Scotland's most enjoyable short breaks.

Lindores Abbey
Built on the site of Lindores Abbey, home to the earliest documented whisky making in Scotland (a 1494 Exchequer Roll entry for Friar John Cor). The modern distillery opened in 2017 and produces a light, honeyed style — the tour includes the abbey ruins.
Eden Mill
A combined brewery and distillery in Guardbridge, just outside St Andrews, founded in 2014 on the site of a 19th-century paper mill. Better known to most visitors for its gin range and brewery, Eden Mill's single malt settled into a permanent core in November 2023 — Bourbon Cask and Sherry Cask Signature bottlings — after the early limited releases (from 2018) sold through. The rebuilt distillery is open to visitors.
