Macduff distillery sits on the Moray Firth coast near Banff, but its single malt is bottled under the name Glen Deveron — one of many cases where the distillery name and the bottled brand differ. The whisky has a distinctive coastal-fruity character, lighter than most Highland malts, with apple and pear notes and a gentle maritime edge from the sea air. Glen Deveron 10 and 20 are the official releases, both well-made if underappreciated. The distillery is not open to visitors.
