About 8 Doors Distillery
Named after the eight doors of John O'Groats (Britain's most northerly village on the mainland), 8 Doors is a micro-distillery producing both gin and whisky in Caithness. The whisky is still maturing, but the location — the far north of Scotland, with brutal winds and cold maritime air — will influence the maturation in ways that warmer, sheltered Speyside warehouses can't replicate. The distillery also produces Caithness-foraged gin. Small-scale tours are available and provide an unusually intimate distillery experience.
