Daftmill
Pair Daftmill with a round
Our sister site TripSCOT covers the visit side — opening hours, getting there, family-friendly notes. We cover the whisky.
A working farm distillery run by the Cuthbert family on a Fife arable farm. Releases are tiny, seasonal (Summer and Winter batches), and sell out within minutes — genuinely one of the hardest single malts in Scotland to buy at retail.
Daftmill is Scotland's most prized farm distillery — a Fife arable farm that distils twice a year (between harvests, when the farmers have time) producing tiny quantities of exceptional single malt. The Summer and Winter batches sell out within minutes of announcement. The quality is extraordinary: complex, elegant, and unlike anything mass-produced. A collector's prize and a whisky drinker's dream.
Core range
Summer / Winter Release
46% ABV · Bourbon + sherry casks
Fife farm distillery — tiny output, annual seasonal releases sell out by ballot. Premium pricing reflects scarcity at least as much as quality.
Food pairings
| Whisky | Food | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Summer Release | Fresh strawberries or peaches | The fruity, floral summer expression echoes fresh summer fruit. |
| Winter Release | Apple tart or pear crumble | More complexity in winter batch — orchard fruit desserts. |
