Peat
Lightly peated (around 10–12 ppm) — deliberately recreating pre-1970s Speyside character

A small distillery owned by legendary independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. Notable for its lightly peated house style — a deliberate throwback to pre-1960s Speyside character.

Our verdict

Benromach is the small, independent counterpart to Speyside's giants — owned by Gordon & MacPhail, the legendary Elgin independent bottler, and producing a deliberately old-fashioned lightly peated spirit as a throwback to pre-1970s Speyside character. The 10 Year Old is genuinely distinctive and excellent value. The Organic expression is the UK's first organic Scotch whisky to receive EU organic certification.
