Loch Lomond
Full Highlands food & drink guide — distilleries, restaurants, where to stay, when to go.
Our sister site TripSCOT covers the visit side — opening hours, getting there, family-friendly notes. We cover the whisky.
Unusually for a single distillery, Loch Lomond produces an enormous range of styles thanks to its straight-necked lomond stills — allowing it to make single malt, single grain, and peated spirit on one site. Now widely stocked in UK supermarkets after a decade of rebranding under the Loch Lomond Group.
Loch Lomond Group is a Scottish whisky oddity — a distillery that produces an enormous range of single malts and blended Scotch from a single Alexandria site, thanks to unusual straight-necked Lomond stills that can be adjusted to produce different spirit profiles. The Inchmurrin (fruity), Inchmoan (peated), and Croftengea (heavily peated) are all from the same building. Comprehensive and confusing.
