Aberdeen sits at the front of a serious agricultural hinterland. The Aberdeen Country Fair runs on Belmont Street in the city centre on the last Saturday of each month, with around 35 stalls of Aberdeenshire and Moray producers; the separate Thainstone Farmers Market, run by Thainstone Events at Inverurie, adds Sunday dates through the season. The Taste of Grampian festival, which drew 25,000 visitors annually to the same venue each June, is no longer running (last confirmed 2025 edition; not on the 2026 calendar as of this check). Within the city: Fierce Beer and BrewDog (Ellon) are the headline breweries; outside it, Glen Garioch and the Speyside distilleries to the west sit within driving distance. Aberdeenshire is also home to some of the most-respected Scottish farm shops — Aberdeenshire Larder and Macduff Castle Farm Shop are well-known regional destinations.
