Aberfeldy food & drink
Highland Perthshire town built around Dewar's distillery and the Birks of Aberfeldy
Aberfeldy is a Highland Perthshire town on the River Tay, 30 minutes west of Dunkeld and an hour north of Perth. Its single biggest local identity is the Dewar's distillery — Aberfeldy Distillery is the spiritual home of the Dewar's blend, and the Dewar's World of Whisky visitor centre is one of the most polished distillery experiences in Scotland. The Birks of Aberfeldy walk — immortalised in a Robert Burns poem — climbs from the edge of town through a steep birch-and-rowan gorge with a waterfall at the top. Beyond the distillery, the town has a small but considered food scene: a couple of long-running restaurants, the Wee Burn Inn at Loch Tay, and an independent baker known well beyond the town.
